Drill a Hole in the Wall
If you want to drill a clean hole into a wall, you should pay attention to a few things so that you get the result quickly and cleanly. We will show you in a few steps how it works and give you some tips.
Which Drill ?
If you want to drill into a wall you need a masonry drill. Masonry drills can drill even hard materials such as concrete, stone, masonry, tiles or granite due to
their special structure and tip made of hard metal plates.

Check drilling location !
Watch your step! Before you start drilling, make sure that there is nothing in the wall that could be damaged by drilling. In the wall can be e.g. water and power lines. If you want to avoid damages you have to check the drilling place before with a line search device. Such a locating device shows fast and uncomplicated whether something is in the wall that one should not drill better. You can buy a locating device cheap here.
Tipp! Damit bei bohren nicht so viel Staub und Dreck auf den Boden fällt, kann man einen Briefumschlag direkt unter der Bohrstelle an die Wand kleben. Der Briefumschlag fängt beim Bohren den meisten Staub und Dreck auf.
Drill a Hole in the Wall
If you want to drill a hole in a wall, you should not start by drilling with the punch function. Only when the drill has penetrated the material for the first few millimetres and you are sure that you can no longer slide off with the drill, should you switch on the impact function. It also helps to place the drill hole exactly on the marking and to prevent the edge of the drill hole from crumbling out.
Tipp! Um nicht zu tief zu bohren, hilft ein Tiefenanschlag an der Bohrmaschine oder man markiert die Tiefe am Bohrer mit etwas Klebeband.
Suck out the Borehole
Finally, vacuum the hole in the wall with a vacuum cleaner. Then insert the plug into the drill hole, the drill hole should be approx. 10mm longer than the plug. The plug can also be knocked in carefully with the back of a screwdriver. And you are ready and can fix the desired object with a suitable screw.
Tipp! Tip! If you want to drill several boreholes at the same height on a wall, e.g. to hang up pictures, this is not very easy. A cross line laser is a great tool here. It draws an absolutely horizontal or vertical line on the wall and makes the work much easier. Every do-it-yourselfer should own a cross line laser, if you do not have one yet, you can buy it here cheaply.
