Drilling machine instruction

Every do-it-yourselfer who has a drill in his hand for the first time asks himself these questions. Which drill, for which material, in which strength? Which dowel? How deep to drill? How can I drill straight? How do I adjust the drill, what does which switch on the drill do?

There are many questions, which we answer here in our drilling machine instructions.

The drilling machine

There are many different drilling machines, but basically there are only two main functions that are needed. Drilling without impact and drilling with impact. Battery-powered drilling machines, so-called cordless drills or cordless percussion drills, are advantageous. Basic rules and safety precautions

If you want to drill a hole in a wall you have to make sure that there are no power lines, water pipes or other things in the wall that you do not want to damage. There are also locating devices that can be used for this purpose. If you are sure that you can drill a hole here, you should clearly mark the spot.

Before you start, you should wear safety glasses and hearing protection for your own safety. If you have long hair, it is best to tie a braid or put it in your outer clothing. It must be ensured that the hairs do not get caught in the drill chuck. Next you have to make sure that you have a secure stand, whether on the ground or on the ladder. This is the only way to guide the drill calmly and safely.
